CLINCHCO, VA – OCTOBER 6, 2020The need for wrecker and rollback services in the Haysi area was something Dakota Yates, of Clinchco, identified as a need for Dickenson County and surrounding areas. As a result, he opened Yates Recovery and Transport LLC to provide the needed services.

Yates Recovery and Transport LLC was a recent recipient of a $10,000 Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority (VCEDA) seed capital matching grant.

“At VCEDA, we are pleased to help the entrepreneurs in our region develop and grow their new businesses through the seed capital matching grant fund,” said VCEDA Executive Director/General Counsel Jonathan Belcher. “Yates Recovery and Transport LLC is another example of how VCEDA is helping to grow the entrepreneurial spirit found in our region. The new Dickenson County business has announced plans for one full-time and two part-time jobs within two years as the business continues to grow.”

Yates Recovery and Transport is located at 3882 Backbone Ridge in Clinchco.

Services offered include hauling automobiles for repair, or for those that are involved in accidents, roadside assistance and assisting local police with impounds. Four-wheel drive wrecker service adds to its capabilities and a variety of insurances are accepted. Additionally, the new business has also added a collision center to be able to make repairs to automobiles, getting them back to pre-wreck condition, Yates said.

“Before getting things started, I did some research on towing companies that supply wrecker and rollback services in the Haysi are and what I found was that there was not such a service for this area,” Yates said.

As a result, he formed Yates Recovery and Transport LLC and began providing it.

“The VCEDA grant has helped us with updates to our trucks,” Yates said. “In the future we plan to add more trucks to further grow our service capabilities.”
